SmarterMail supports content indexing which will allow your server to index emails, contacts, appointments, notes, and more for faster, more efficient searching. While the default settings will function very well for the vast majority of customers, some administrators may decide they wish to change some settings.
NOTE: Changing these settings can adversely affect the performance of the SmarterMail server. When upgrading from a previous version of SmarterMail your existing data will automatically begin indexing. This process may take some time, but runs in the background and should not affect the performance of your server.
Configuring Indexing Settings.
Follow these steps to customize your indexing settings:
- Log in to SmarterMail as the system administrator.
- Click the Manage icon.
- Click Troubleshooting.
- In the Indexing card, edit the indexing settings to customize how your server will index email items.
- Click Save.
