Enable TLS for Outgoing Messages

This article applies to recent versions of SmarterMail. View articles for SmarterMail 15.x and earlier.

SmarterMail allows the system administrator to determine which domains have the ability to send email using TLS when the recipient email server accepts a TLS connection. Enabling TLS will allow the communication between the two servers to be encrypted.

Follow these steps to manage the TLS settings for outgoing messages on a per-domain basis:

  1. Log in to SmarterMail as the system administrator.
  2. Click on the Manage icon.
  3. Select the desired domain. The domain settings will load in the content pane.
  4. On the Security card, select the desired TLS setting for this domain.
  5. Click Save.
