Applies to all versions of SmarterTrack
With support for nearly 60 different languages, SmarterTrack makes it easy to communicate with customers on a global level. Setting up language support for SmarterTrack is a multi-step process:
- Download and install the desired language packs.
- Configure the supported languages.
- Configure the translatable strings.
- Link knowledge base and news item translations.
These steps are explained in detail below.
Download and Install the Language Pack
Language translation packs allow users to view the SmarterTrack Web interface in languages other than English. To find out which translations are available, go to the SmarterTools website and click on the SmarterTrack Downloads page. Information on the language packs can be found in the Related Files table. For instructions on how to install the language pack, please refer to the KB article Install Language Packs for SmarterTrack.
Configure Supported Languages
After the language pack is installed, you will need to log in to the management interface and add the desired language. This will allow you to use translatable strings (translations for phrases that are not available in the language pack). Configure Translatable Strings
Translatable strings allow for the dynamic translation of user-inputted information. For example, a translatable string would be used to translate the name of a department into another language. Link Knowledge Base and News Item Translations
If you plan on providing translations of your knowledge base articles and news items to customers, you will need to link the translations together. For more information, please refer to the KB article Create Knowledge Base Articles in Multiple Languages.
