Why do some Webmail logins show up as XMPP
Question asked by Ron Raley - 2/16/2024 at 1:32 PM
Unanswered
Some domain admins are seeing users, including their own account, last login as XMPP.  Yet the rest of the users indicate webmail last login.

Thank you!
Ron

XMPP is the "chat / IM" server protocol host that's part of SmarterMail.  We see it on our end too - and they show up as localhost connections instead of the user's remote IP.

I find this to be a bug.

This issue is still a little odd to me.

This isn't an issue. As J. LaDow has written: These connections are regarding the chat server of SmarterMail. Even if you use webmail there's a XMPP connection opened.
