New SmarterMail BETA Release Available - Build 6885

We’re very pleased to announce the next version of SmarterMail! 
In this thread, we will only post release notes and changes as new releases are made public. Bugs, suggestions and other feedback should be discussed in the other threads within the SmarterMail category. Use the Subscribe button above to receive email notifications when changes have been made or new builds are made available. Instructions on downloading the most current version can be found below.

Step 1 - What to know
Releases of SmarterMail posted in this thread may contain bugs or issues, and some configuration details may still change from release to release. As a result, you should be wary when installing these builds on product servers. There are EXTENSIVE back end processing and configuration file changes that will absolutely and unequivocally prevent you from rolling back to SmarterMail 16.x or earlier. We strongly recommend backing up any databases and file structures before you install the release linked below or any future updates. 
Step 2 - Download the product
The product install files can be downloaded from the link below. Be sure to check back for updates to see when a new build has been released. To upgrade to a new build, follow the steps to perform a minor upgrade, and use the installer link below for accessing each new build. 
Full Installer:

IMPORTANT NOTE: In SmarterMail 17.x, we've updated the indexing format. On your initial upgrade to 17.x (from any earlier major release), ALL user accounts will be re-indexed in order to utilize this new format. As the re-indexing occurs, you will see a temporary spike in CPU. However, please note that a user's experience and the overall server performance should not be negatively impacted, as the indexing thread is prioritized lower than all other threads. In addition, users will still be able to search while this one-time bulk re-index occurs. This is because a user's account will use the old indexing format for searches if the re-indexing has not yet been performed for their account. As soon as their account has finished re-indexing, it will simply switch to the updated format.

Step 3 - Post your feedback
In the SmarterMail category, you'll have the ability to create new threads to Propose an Idea, Report a Problem, and Ask a Question. Please post ONE suggestion, problem or question per thread. This will ensure that each item can be discussed individually and will allow us to better track the implementation of feature requests and bug reports.

A new BETA  build is now available! SmarterMail Build 6885 has been released. Use the installer link from the main post above to update to this new version.

NOTE: If installing a fresh version of SmarterMail Build 6885, and using a hostname, when the installer completes and the setup wizard begins, you may be required to replace "localhost" with your hostname in order to begin the set up process. This will be fixed in the next release of the new installer.

ADDED: A new installer. This installer simplifies the installation and IIS configuration processes and includes product licensing. (Free Edition, licensed activation, manual activation).
ADDED: The ability to select the audio output in Team Workspace.
ADDED: The #username# variable has been added to disk space events.
ADDED: Support to sync domain calendars and Global Address List as public folders to EWS clients.
CHANGED: The license activation step in the setup wizard is skipped because the installer prompts for that information now.
CHANGED: Froala editor is now used to compose a Notification body.
CHANGED: Password complexity checks are now run for any user or admin (including system admins) changing passwords via the APIs.
SECURITY: Fixed vulnerability where an authenticed user could access another user's email messages.
FIXED: Workplaces does not handle network interruptions gracefully.
FIXED: Shared calendar appointments could duplicate when synced via EWS.
FIXED: Issues with folder and item permissions synced via EWS.
FIXED: EWS domain resource folders may not show up in public folders.
FIXED: UTC issues with EWS and eM Client.
FIXED: Permissions on shares were not being returned correctly via EWS.
FIXED: Birthday fields for contacts could display on the wrong day.
FIXED: Setting custom DNS servers does not save properly nor reset the DNS system.
FIXED: When checking DNS in a Spam session make sure we detect DNS issues and fail the rest if there are enough errors.
FIXED: The Workspace cards in My Meetings show "No Files" despite having 1 or more files in the Workspace.
FIXED: The File Storage folder state for expanded/collapsed is not remembered after a refresh.
FIXED: Context menu scrolls along with scrollable areas in Firefox.
FIXED: File storage displays oddly when switching to English after viewing the interface in RTL language.
FIXED: Cannot scroll to see entire text in Froala editor in a modal.
FIXED: Calendar daylight savings issue when creating an appointment.
FIXED: EWS sync issues with deleting items.
FIXED: EWS syncing reports that an email was updated when it was really deleted.
FIXED: Attachments may not show up in emails synced via EWS.
FIXED: Messages from EAS senders have date/time stamp of when the message was received, not sent.
FIXED: After a Team Workspace reconnection occurs the avatar and muted mic still show even though the video is visible.
FIXED: Cannot progress past the license page in setup wizard if an email/password is not required for the license.
FIXED: Several calendar subpart parsing errors in mail messages synced via EAS.
FIXED: Mapping a domain calendar the name shows as "calName on " instead of "calName on".
FIXED: Creating a new Team Workspace adds that Workspace and previously existing Workspaces under My Files in File Storage as well as the Team Workspace File folder.
FIXED: Locally bounced messages do not return a response from the server.
TRANSLATIONS: Added Portuguese (Brazil) translation file.
TRANSLATIONS: Fixed several areas that were missing translatable text in the interface.
