How do I reset my license activation Limit
Question asked by James Ussery - 12/17/2013 at 6:36 AM
Answered
I've changed servers and activated my key. Everything was fine, but now I'm seeing now that I've somehow exceeded an activation limitation.

Product: SmarterMail Enterprise Edition 10.x - 500 Mailboxes

According to the error, I should be able to go to smartertools.com and reset the activation limit, however, I'm not able to find any screen for that in the portal.

I've already followed this article (http://portal.smartertools.com/kb/a2745/revert-a-licensed-version-of-smartermail-to-the-free-edition) but this is a server activation message.

Can someone assist?

Does smartermail respond to community threads?
This isn't a paid support request. The error shows that I should be able to take care of this myself via this portal. I'm not finding that. Now I have users locked out. Guys I paid for this software and I'm using it within the recommended guidelines. If I uninstall the software and shut down the old server there is only one activation. It should update the server to show this. If the error tells me to go find something on the site and it's not there or the site has changed this is a bad user experience.

In the future, James, be aware that activation issues are always free.  Call or email our sales department and they'll help you through it.

First, go to http://account.smartertools.com and log in at the upper right.

In the left side, go to License Keys.

Click on your license.

If you don't have activations remaining, you'll see a button that says "Reset Activations" in the second section.  Click that and follow the prompts.

FYI, I'll let the dev teams know that the error message should be made more clear.
