Populate Mailing List Custom Fields by Email Commands
Question asked by Randy Armbrecht - 1/21/2021 at 6:50 AM
Unanswered
Customer has a web form on their site they use to allow users to sign up for mailing list. (using the standard email BODY subscribe method).   Is there a way to populate a special field on this list (Name field) via the email auto-add method?  Cannot find the answer to this in any help or KB articles

For anyone that may search and find this thread.....

Finally got the answer to this question via a support Ticket submitted to SmarterTools. The short answer is it cannot be done.

Kind of defeats the purpose of having custom fields available to a ListServ if you cannot easily auto-populate these fields...

Long answer:
Hello,

I have reviewed what we have available and this can not be done via ListServ and will need to be done from the web interface or API. Here is a list of the supported commands ( https://help.smartertools.com/SmarterMail/current/Topics/DomainAdmin/Misc/ListServCommands.aspx ) from our help.

Thank you
