[17.x] Slow Calendar
Problem reported by Martin Schaible - 1/20/2020 at 7:18 AM
Resolved
Hello

The user clicks to the calendar symbol and he needs to wait 5 to 10 seconds fot the data.
Then he clicks to "day". The calendar will be loaded very quick. Then the calendar goes to grey and the spinner is runing for at least 10 to 20 seconds. The users are using shared calendars .
Looks like, that something will be reloaded in the background.

Compared to version 15.x the calendar is too slow. Some users are using the webmail to whole day and their are now more than unhappy.

Cheers!

Hello,

How many events are on the calendar? Are you using calendar cleaning?

Mine is fast. I have 14 pages of 25. Not sure how to count the exact total but that is a decent size. We do have calendar cleaning on.

The customer uses SmarterMail since 2012. So we have 45 pages with each 200 entries per person. Nice ;-) I think, that the code tries to preload data.

Where do i find "Calendar Cleaning"? This would help i think: "Kill all calendar entries from 2012 to 2019". Yes please ;-)

Login as a system administrator, manage/edit the domain you intend to apply this to, then find "Calendar Auto-Clean Month(s)" and select any amount of months. This will get rid of a lot of old entries if they are older calendars.

Hello,

I've attached a screenshot. Maybe this can help?

Found it. kinda "hidden feature" :-)

I think, that it won't really clean up. The Folder auto cleaning follows the rules, that eg. only 1 month old stuff will be removed and any older Mails will remain.
