Connections Columns
Idea shared by John Marx - 12/12/2018 at 7:17 AM
Proposed
When viewing the connections screen it would be great for three new columns.

  1. Country (being we are being hit from outside the United States)
  2. If there is an actual user authenticated to show who the user is
  3. Add to Blacklist

I noticed a few conversations you're involved in that are feature requests.

I don't want you to think we ignoring them or not interested but were so heavily focused on making sure all the new products we release and all the new and updated internal systems are as stable as they were prior!

If you want to wait and / or bump these in a couple weeks, we will have more bandwidth to discuss them as we start to put together our updated timelines.

Plus, the next major features that will be available will be MAPI and some additional features that make SmarterMail more like Exchange.  These will be sneaking into the upcoming releases in a non intrusive way so that updates are seamless for Administrators and Users.

Thanks. I agree MAPI is critical. I also know that (being a developer myself), if I am in a section of code (e.g. connections) often doing a quick add of a column sometimes can be easily done. I just wanted to get it posted and on everyone's radar as well as get the community communicating it as well. I will make certain to bring it back up as well.

I do appreciate v17 (over v16) as it does seem faster.

I understand the same section argument but SmarterMail is a different breed.  Everything must go through a significant evaluation process because a simple column or data element can impact the speed and performance of SmarterMail as a whole.  The data displayed is not just visual but elements that are cached, event driven, and accessed from 1000's of concurrent threads which can cause locking issues etc.

If this was our website which gets average traffic or even SmarterStats, not a major concern.
