530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first
Question asked by Ian Ralph - 1/4/2018 at 11:11 AM

We're getting emails we send rejected with this error message, from one particular client domain. It's only one domain, and we get "Reason: Remote host said: 530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first"

Any ideas what is wrong? Is it their end or ours? Odd that we've never seen this with any other domain.

Under System Admin > Settings > Protocols > SMTP Out, do you have Enable TLS if supported by the remote server enabled?

Many thanks for your reply and apologies for the long delay, I have only just seen this.

Yes, we have TLS  enabled but still the same error message from that particular domain. Haven't seen it on any others!

Any thoughts?

Thanks again

Ian
