Can free edition users pay for version upgrades?

We have reverted to the free edition of V 16 from the Pro version because we want to share calendars, and that is only available in Enterprise. Going to Enterprise for an 8 person office is a bit of a stretch, so we have gone back to the free edition.
We originally went to Pro for the version protection, so now we had to give that up in order tp share calendars. Kind of put us between a rock and a hard place.
Since V16 seems to be buggy and we know that things will have to be fixed going forward, (right now we can't customize our personal calendars and don't know what else we are going to find) how can we get those updates? Reinstall?

If you're using the free edition, you won't have to pay; you can upgrade to any major or minor version that we release. This means you can perform a minor upgrade as we release 16.2, 16.3, etc. and perform a major upgrade down the road when 17.x is available. Here are the steps you'll follow for each type of upgrade:
