Am I the only one that needs to sync to contacts via SOAP or API process??

We have a process where we have X amount of contacts on database.  

For each sales person, we want to put them into Smartermail....

 

But the fun comes, when the sales person updates the contact in SmarterMail, we want to get them back out

of SmarterMail  and update the database.

 

Also, don't see an easy, non-user interface to put contacts into SmarterMail.

 

We are programmers!   We can write about anything.  To that end.. we tried simulating the XML that used to support the contacts... but there is some algorithm needed to get the ID to stick.   Again... that failed...

 

I contacted SmarterMail sales support... whom said they are not taking an custom programming jobs....
They indicated CardDAV .. but not sure how that would programmatically work.

 

So basically we are stuck....

Without a work around, we are going to have use a different email server....   So if anyone has any ideas... please let me know...   Right we considering going to competitor... not our preference... simply because they have numerous interfaces.....   Any ideas are welcome!
