eM Email Client for Windows support EWS
Problem reported by Sérgio Rocha - 9/2/2014 at 5:43 PM
Resolved
Hello Everyone,

eM Email Client for Windows support EWS, we just start testing yesterday and we are very happy with this great peace of software.

EWS its a alternative to the expensive active sync, and its available only for outlook 2011 for MAC.
eM Client works great with EWS but its showing an error on email send, can SM take a look to see if its on SM side, or if can do something about.

EWS client for windows can be a great solution for customers, take a look on http://www.emclient.com/

Thanks in advance,

Sérgio

IMAP, CALDAV and CARDDAV work nearly perfectly for this email client as well. Once again there is one exception, CardDav is read only, as it deletes updated fields on contacts. I reported a different bug to the developers of eM Client and they fixed it within a week, however they have stated that the issues with CardDav is SmarterMail related so they can do nothing about it.

I have reported the bug with CardDav using their bug reporting form. Please do the same for your mentioned issue. Maybe together we can get some support for this fine email client.

This bug ticket is getting attention. CardDav functionality is being tested.

This is great news. I reported this bug a year or two ago. I would love to use eM Client but can't see using for everything except managing contacts. I hope ST gets it fixed and then fixes this issue with EWS.

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for your reply, carddav its nice, but the user experience with EWS and Active Sync is an Exchange like experience must better.

I will love get response for someone from ST to know where is the source of the problem, the EWS its only one, someone it not using well the "standard", the first step is get attention from one of the company's. (ST, eM).

I post on eM forum but i get no response.

The only EWS smartertools has said they support is outlook for Mac.

Maybe time for a support ticket?

Many times I have posted a bug but my inexperienced approach made my post useless to them. They need hard data that is actionable. I suggest you gather more data and post again as a new thread and make sure it is posted in the proper place. They may have a official "bug report" method like ST. It is always more effective to post to an official "bug report" form than posting a bug in a community form.

We will be testing eM Client with EWS.  Any issues that we find that are in our control, we will resolve.

As far as I can tell everything works except when you send an email it sends but then sits in the Outbox of Local Folders and continues to resend...It also seems to error during sync with sent and trash? Assuming something to do with SmarterMail folders named Sent Items & Deleted Items vs. Sent and Trash...Please find a fix for these issues...Thanks

There are issues with eM Client.  We have been in communication with them and are working through some issues.  We do not have an ETA but it is something we are working on.

Jonathan, with SM 13.1 CardDAV should work correctly with eM Client.
