Revert a Licensed Version of SmarterTrack to the Free Edition

Follow the steps below to remove a SmarterTrack installation's license key and revert the installation back to the Free Edition, which is good for a single agent:

  1. Open IIS and stop the SmarterTrack app pool.
  2. Delete the license.json file. (The default file path is c:\Program Files (x86)\SmarterTools\SmarterTrack\MRS\App_Data\Config\license.json.)
  3. Start the SmarterTrack app pool.
  4. Once the license.json file has been removed and the app pool has been restarted, the SmarterTrack installation will be reverted to the Free Edition, which is good for 1 single agent.
