As the title suggests, can I install SmarterMail Linux on the new Debian 13 (and possibly also on Linux Mint)?

Are they supported, or will I run into problems?

I was able to get SmarterMail installed on Debian 13 but I haven't done a lot of testing with it. To install it, you'll need to get libicu installed first, you can get it using: sudo apt-get install -y libicu76 libicu-dev

Hmm, I don't really like that answer...

In my opinion, before declaring SmarterMail compatible with Debian 13, it needs to be thoroughly tested and the installation script needs to work properly automatically.
Otherwise, I consider it NOT tested and therefore NOT safe...

So, I'd say the answer for now is NO, until further notice.

Would you instead have preferred no answer at all? We're trying our best to actively communicate with yall. This OS came out literally at the beginning of the month, welcome to linux where they break stuff between OS's. He told you we were in the middle of testing never said it was official, no need to get salty with his response. We're testing this stuff RIGHT NOW.

Sorry, Matt, I didn't mean to offend, maybe I was too rude...

I meant to say that I prefer to have a tested functional certification, otherwise I don't trust it very much, so I think the correct answer should be:

"It's NOT currently supported."

Sure, it can be installed with additional instructions, but it hasn't been thoroughly tested, so there could be problems...

And in fact, my initial question was precisely:
"Is it (are they...) supported, or will I run into problems?"

P.S.: Thanks for clarifying the issue and specifying that you're testing it.

Can you keep us updated on when it will be officially supported?

Its looking fine so far minus the LDAP issues we noticed which installing that library BACK into Debian fixes it. Debian 13 removes the libraries used for LDAP by default. We're gonna have our installer install that component. As far as I'm aware that was the only thing stood out but we've got servers running the build now and I think that will probably be the only thing we end up seeing.

It shouldn't be long if its not already in the very next build we do.
