Send mail from alias address via smtp
Idea shared by Titus von Boxberg - 3/27/2024 at 10:54 AM
Proposed
Currently, sending from an alias address is possible only via webmail.
This should be possible via SMTP as well.
Setting "Require Auth Match" to "Domain" is a very insecure workaround and not viable for larger organizations.

This feature has been requested by two comments in thread a1147 as well.

I have tested the MAPI integration and have the same problem.

Using the Alias address is only possbile with webmail, but the main application in business is Outlook or similar.
Many companies have different AD user names than mail addresses and it's not funny to use 'U12345' or 'A7' as the official mail address using Outlook.

I have found a workaround at the request  'Windows 11 24H2 could cause a huge trouble in some scenarios' (sorry, but I'm not allowed to include a link to that article) to create a dummy AD user, but with 250 or more AD users, it would be a 'little bit' complicated.
