Do Not Auto-Enter Calendar Invitations
Idea shared by Scott Hendrickson - 11/9/2022 at 3:23 PM
Under Consideration
Please change SmarterMail so that calendar invitations in emails are not automatically entered into the webmail calendar.  Perhaps there could be an Add to Calendar button that appears in webmail for such invitations, OR perhaps auto-adding to the calendar could be made optional in webmail account settings.  Either would work (for me anyway).

In my current version (8408) as well as in more current releases I believe, if an email comes in with a calendar invitation, that invitation is automatically entered into the webmail calendar (as pending?) and waits for me to click Accept or Decline.  I've found that there is no way to simply delete this invitation without responding, even if the date has long since passed.  If I decline, it's removed from the calendar.  If I Accept, it's left in the calendar, and I can then delete it.  However in both cases, an email is sent to the meeting organizer.

I don't know about others, but I do not use my webmail calendar; I use my Outlook calendar.  Currently there is no way for me to remove these invitations from my webmail calendar without an email being sent, which I do not want to happen.

Thanks!

Scott
