Multiple clients - IMAP folders fail
Problem reported by Marc Frega - 3/11/2022 at 3:18 PM

Everyone, I have a client with 100+ folders and 3 desktops and one Iphone.  About a year ago I noticed that he can no longer create a folder on one desktop and the folders would appear on other outlook clients.  I think it shows up on the server 100% of the time and the iphone 100% of the time.  Does anyone else experience IMAP issues with folders across multiple devices?

This may hint at a corrupted sync state or folder index on the user's connected email client on this problematic desktop. Could you try removing the account from that client then adding it back? If that doesn't work you may want to try a repair on the client, then set up the account fresh under a new profile in the client for good measure.

Additionally, it's also possible the email client simply isn't subscribed to those folders and isn't receiving changes here. Can you check which folders are subscribed as well? In Outlook on Windows:

- Right click the account name in the left navigation pane and choose "IMAP Folders"
- Click Query in the modal.
- Review the folders in the All and Subscribed tabs.
