I did a quick search through our documentation but was not able to find anything definitive on this functionality for you. That said, it does work as Andrea had pointed out on the community thread that you'd noted in that it generates a second (additional) password which can be used to log on to the account for troubleshooting purposes. Issuing a temporary password does not affect the user's ability to log on and connect with their existing password. I'll pass a note along to our documentation team asking that they get this included in the help documentation in the future. I hope this helps! :)
