Connectivity-->Migration-->Kerio Connect seems to not migrate all the e-mails
Problem reported by Gabriele Maoret - SERSIS - 8/26/2021 at 5:10 AM
Submitted
I tried to many accounts from 2 Kerio Coinnect servers to SmarterMail using the tool Connectivity-->Migration integrated in SmarterMail, but it seems to not work like expected...

Some messages are not migrated (random) and there's no clues in Mailbox Import LOGS.

WORKAROUND: I use ImapSync to migrate the mail folders and then I use the migration tool only for calendars, contacts, activities and notes

Hello Gabriele! Do you find any exceptions in the logs pertaining to this migration and why those messages did not come across? Do you see some messages arrive and others do not within the same directory, or do you mean there are entire folders going missing through this import?

Hi Kyle!

There are some exceptions in the log, but far less than the mail that are not migrated. Eg:

This is the only excepion related to one Mailbox (the address is masked...). This mailbox have hundreds of mail missing (total mails 18400, trasferred less than 17500).

I see that there's a TIMEOUT exception at 12:12, but the transfer not stopped at that time, it has finished at about 15:10 (3 PM).

If you want I can give you some acconts in my Kerio servers (even the one in the example) that you can use to try a migration in your test enviroment to see if you can replicate the issue.

P.S.: using ImapSync to transfer the mails form Kerio to SmarterMail  ALL the mail are transferred correctly, so I'm not in the hurry to have a FIX, but I want to help you to make SmarterMail better!

Thanks for your follow-up on this, and I appreciate your patience while I was out for the weekend. I try to get online periodically to respond to people but this one was a busy busy weekend!

The exceptions may be related even though there are less of them than the number of missing emails. My theory is that we're pulling something back to our IMAPRetrieval folder, and then failing to process that data into the SM account. This would explain why the migration times out as its potentially waiting on us to finish processing the already downloaded data. Can you submit a ticket on this one so we can do some real-time testing please?
