Clickable links in Calendar Items/Accepted Meeting Invites (again!)
Idea shared by TJ - 1/6/2021 at 2:02 PM
Proposed
Is there any reason why links included in an accepted meeting invite aren't clickable? A lot of users can't deal with copying and pasting Zoom/Teams links manually from accepted meeting invites (they don't know what bits of the url they need and invariably get it wrong and miss meetings)...

I've ask for this before (a number of times), do you think we can get this developed this year?

Thanks, TJ

Hello TJ, and thanks for your post here. I just did a quick test under our latest release using an existing meeting I had on my calendar which includes a link, and was able to click the link successfully. What I found though is that you need to click the link, then click the Open Link button which appears on the left side of the editor popup for the link. I wasn't able to get a screenshot of this (as it loses focus when capturing screenshots) but you should see this button appear when clicking on a link in our editors. If you're not seeing this behavior I recommend upgrading to our latest release then testing this once more. If you continue to have trouble with this please submit a ticket with support and we'd be happy to get to the bottom of it for you. Have a good one!

Thanks for taking the time to look into this Kyle, I'm running build 7619 what you're explaining works when you created the calendar item yourself within SM or if the person inviting you with in your domain/same SM instance, but it doesn't work when you accepted a meeting invite sent to you (which you accepted) from an external user from a different company using a non-SM email system e.g. an on-prem Exchange server.

If you let me know your email address (or a test/sample account on your SM instance), then I can send you an invite and you should be able to see for yourself....

Hi Kyle, just checking if you can confirm this is an issue or if you need me to send you a meeting invite to demonstrate the problem? It really causes a lot of confusion with my users...

Thanks, TJ
