Can anyone else reproduce this issue.

You will need to be able to send emails to multiple persons on a smartermail server.

For example

Send 1 email to 3 recipients from webmail from user1@domain.com on a smartermail server to 3 different recipients who use Outlook on their Iphone or Android device. Use the TO: line for all . and include a subject.

Then have the user check if they get the email and if its coming from the person who sent it or if its coming from the recipient and check if the subject is missing.

I can verify that its not working properly.  When we do this test the recipient gets the email with no subject and the sender is themselves(the recipient)

I have a ticket open.  I installed 7619 last night but the issue has been occurring since 7607

We have had several problems with Outlook Mobile.  Microsoft updates the app twice a week on average.

About a month ago, users would SEND, and Outlook Mobile would show it SENT, yet the app never touched the SmarterMail server at all.  This was fixed by Microsoft with yet another app update.

More information is needed.

Can you determine whether this is a SmarterMail issue or Outlook Mobile issue?
Does the e-mail subject and recipient show-up fine in webmail?
Can you produce the issue with 2 recipients, or 3 or more?

Hey Ron, Thanks for replying.

This issue only rears its head under outlook mobile on both platforms. ITs 100% reproduceable on my server.  IOS native and Android native apps are fine.

It doesnt not appear to be something that happens when lets say multiple recipients send from gmail to a smartermail server.  I will need to test that.

Ok, so i just tested sending from AOL webmail to 3 persons on the TO: field and all three people on the smartermail server on outlook mobile client got the emails with no subject and see it as being from themselves.  There is def something wrong there with Outlook mobile when going through smartermail.

I was able to reproduce the issue. However, SmarterMail webmail displays the message fine.

I believe this is an Outlook Mobile issue. Not 💯 percent sure though.

Thanks for taking the time Ron. Its causing me serious client issues and threats of cancelling. I hope smartertools hops on this..  Im surprised we aren't seeing alot of chatter about this.

More information.

I just did a test with newest outlook on android that came out yesterday/this week.

I first went to a test account at AOL. and sent and email addresses to 3 users on the TO line.

marc@Jungle.net and duc@jungle.net and tyrone@jungle.net (all on my smartermail server)

When we go to our phones on android and IOS using outlook for those platforms, the email appears to come from the person who is receiving the email and the subject is blank.
This seems like a major issue to me..  No one is getting reports of this being a problem? Actually it seems worse now.  The Icon on the left says MF so it thinks its from ME and yet says no Sender. See the 6:38AM email.

I can duplicate this reliably. see the attachment

This issue is still reproduceable by me and I cannot believe its not considered severe. I cant tell if its a smartermail or outlook mobile issue.  The problem doesn't occur on PC or in native email clients on mobile devices. Only on outlook. I have hundreds of users on 2 companies threatening to move to gmail on this issue.

We have 10,000 users on 400 domains.  We have not received a single support ticket concerning this.

Ron, What build are you on and do you use IMAP?  It started like 3 builds ago but only for outlook mobile clients. We use IMAP and on latest build

We are running the latest build and are using IMAP heavily.  I personally see the issue and can reproduce it.  We just haven't received any complaints about it.

My instinct says the issue is with Microsoft.

Try to reproduce the issue on another IMAP server, like Gmail.

This should tell you if it is SmarterMail or Microsoft.

Outlook mobile is enough of a mess that I've stopped using it. The support for the app is also spotty.
