SM 7415 - No MAPI/EWS user activity reported even if there's MAPI/EWS connections
Problem reported by Gabriele Maoret - SERSIS - 4/22/2020 at 4:18 AM
Submitted
As you can see I'm connected vai MAPI/EWS (With Outlook 2016).

The CONNECTIONS screen show me connected (the IP is mine), BUt it seems that I have 2 connection even if I have a single user accont with Outlook MAPI:

This is a little issue...

The bigger issue is that in the USER ACTIVITY screen there's nothing to report my connection and the MAPI column has 0 connection reported:

On the other side, if I use EM Client with EWS the reports are right:

Outlook with MAPI uses both a MAPI and an EWS connections.  This is why we had to combine the two protocols from a licenses perspective.  I'll double check, but I'm sure it's showing two connections because it made a MAPI and EWS connection during your Outlook session.

EWS clients, like eM Client, only use the one protocol which is why it only reports a single connection.

Larry, you need to pay more attention when you read a post..

The big issue is that in "User activity" there's NO REPORT of MAPI connection from Outlook

Gabriele, I read the post just fine and was responding to the first part, quoted above.  In the meantime, we do have a customer reviewing the areas in question to see if they're displaying the values correctly.

Oh, OK, sorry Larry, I mistakenly thought that you had not understood the whole post well.
Sorry again.

UPDATE: with SM 7417 the second issue ( USERS ACTIVITY with no MAPI connections) seems to be solved

UPDATE 2: still broken... :-(

Forget it: with Outlook you still don't see the user's activity when connected via MAPI
