The SmarterMail webmail interface does not support S/MIME signing or encryption (i.e. PGP, GPG, etc.).

You can use S/MIME signing and encryption on messages sent and received through a compatible email client (i.e. MS Outlook, MacOS X Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird) using POP/IMAP/SMTP through SmarterMail but those messages will not be able to be opened/previewed/read in the webmail interface.
