[BETA 7314] Uploading emails via EWS fails
Problem reported by Alex Clarke - 1/13/2020 at 9:46 AM
Resolved
I'm trying to upload ~20,000 emails from Outlook for Mac (latest version) over EWS.

After copying the emails from a local folder to one on the server (outside of the Inbox) the upload started.

While the upload looks like it's completed (Outlook says the folder is now up-to-date) I only have 2,406 emails within the same folder on the server.

In addition to the above, the server contains one GRP file (around 1GB in size) with the name 2020_1_13.grp that contains all of these emails. The dates of the emails range from 2010 - 2019.

So, we have two issues...

1. Emails not being stored in the correct GRP files.
2. Unable to upload large amounts of emails from a local source.

I have previously raised this issue as a ticket (084-2502ED00-006C) back in October 2019, but was told that all development work is currently focused on MAPI. This original ticket was raised when I attempted the same upload, but over IMAP.

I forgot to mention, the date/time for the emails appear incorrect in both the email list and just above the body of each email.

However, the date/time is correct in the email headers.

Thanks Andrew... it should already be on the bugs list as it was reported last year.

Looking forward for a fix soon as this is really causing headaches for several clients!

Alex,

With my testing, I have been unable to replicate this issue. I have an idea what may be going on, and I think that I may know what we need to do to resolve the issue, but I need more data. Would it be possible for you to send us a copy of an affected Outlook archive? It would probably be too big to send as an attachment to a PM, so if this is doable, let me know and I will make some arrangements to get the archive transferred.

Sure, that sounds like a plan!

Kyle has provided me with access to your FTP server already.

Shall I upload the data there?

It looks like the password that he gave you has expired. I'll PM you some updated credentials this morning.

Thanks Andrew.

I'll work on getting this data ready for upload now.
