message "potentially dangerous scripts were removed" but no options
Problem reported by digital.iway - 6/26/2019 at 5:28 AM
Not A Problem
I am working with a law enforcement client and they subscribe to a leads database service. Occasionally then need to reset a password by email recovery.  the email that is sent has HTML inline and the web interface is blocking parts of the email showing this message "Potentially dangerous scripts were removed from this message."

We confirmed this email is legit and would like to show the contents but I do not see the blue button to the right of this message to allow it to show. see screen shot below.

If I use a phone with IMAP the message displays, but most users are using the web interface.

is this an encoding issue that I can change?  we are using (western European ISO Default) and also tried Unicode UTF 8 with same results as a test.

Should there be options displayed to the right of this message like in this screen shot:  https://cl.ly/fb57210855e0

any ideas would be appreciated thank you.

Hi,

SmarterMail will block certain HTML, JS, etc. elements, which can help keep the mail server from being compromised.  Currently there are no options in SmarterMail directly to allow the content that was blocked.  For those using mail clients or, as you've seen, mobile apps to access their email should be able to see the blocked content though.

Sadly this is a great issue for us, as we use googledocs and now all the updates and comments within googledocs are now blocked by this, making my work very, very difficult.  Please make a way to turn this feature off!

We do have a feature request in to allow override or ability to disable this functionality, but this behavior is in place to prevent code execution on the server, and this likely won't be something that you can disable across the board.
