Where is Mark as Spam?
Question asked by Neal Culiner - 6/4/2019 at 4:54 AM
Answered
I'm confused by the UI again, in the past we had Mark as Spam in the web client? I logged in to mark a few messages as spam yet I don't see the option any more. Pretty common verbiage among email clients. Is "Block Sender" the new term for this? Not a fan, that seems specific to an email address where Mark as Spam should potentially learn (ML) from the message on what needs to be adjusted to prevent this message?

Neal, you have my vote. Most webmail systems (and email clients for that matter) have a Mark as Spam so that's what users are accustomed to seeing.

Here's a long discussion on the topic. Unfortunately, the proposed solution at the top was never implemented.

They don't think about their userbase. My 80 year old mother would not get this! Developers and Designers must learn to see through all eyes of their users.

I can confirm the solution you've referenced is still on the discussion list, but has not yet been implemented yet. I can ping our development team during our next review meeting and get you an update on this.

I'd love to have "system level" actions that can be set when an email is marked as spam or even if an email is moved to junk folder. This would help automate spam reporting etc.

Maybe a phrase list like in forum'ware so admins can modify phrases for things like this?

Even a simple action like "copy message to" and either allow copy to a specific directory or even forward the email to a specified email address.

I agree a mark as spam and "Mark As Not Spam" are needed!
