Calendar Time Zone Off?
Problem reported by John Marx - 1/2/2019 at 11:09 AM
Resolved
Latest version of 17.

Users time is UTC-06:00
Servers time is set to UTC
User enters a calendar appointment from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm in the web interface
Hits save

Time on calendar shows time from 3:30 p to 6 p.

Open back up and click show time zones (they are central)
Times updated to 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

Now shows 3p to 6pm

I know I can calculate the six hour difference and set the meeting from 3am to 6am but that seems wrong. Tested with two other users (three total) -- all different domains, all the same steps as above, with the exact same results.

Yes, I've reported this almost a month ago, there is supposed to be a fix for this in the next release.

Chris, you are correct in that there is a fix for this issue that will be included in the next release of SmarterMail.

Robert, will this fix the "wrong" one's? I've told everyone for every meeting they add now to keep track of it separately so they can go back and adjust when a fix comes out.

This was resolved in Build 6948 (Jan 9, 2019) Fixed: Creating appointments in web interface with a specified time zone other than the one the server is set adjusts incorrectly the start/end times. Unfortunately, old appts would have already been written to the system with the incorrect dates/times. This will not be a retroactive fix but should prevent the issue on future appointments.
