Upgrading from 11 to SmarterStats_6911
Problem reported by Steven Kornegay - 12/4/2018 at 8:28 AM
Resolved
I am trying to update to the latest version of SmarterStats. I uninstalled version 11 and tried to install the latest version, but it will not use the current license.  It autopopulates the license field with our license, but says there is an issue and will go no further.  I want to retain my current configuration and imported logs. Any ideas?

Hello,

You mentioned its auto-populating? Where are you seeing this? You can also try breezing through the installer using the "Free" action then applying your actual license once you log into SmarterStats. If you have a license.json file in C:\Program Files (x86)\SmarterTools\SmarterStats\MRS\App_Data\Config, you could try deleting it and re-running the install. This will clear your current license, which would make it not auto-fill or anything which means you'll wanna have your key ready to re-license.

Installing the software as free version and then adding the license to activate worked.  Thanks!

The auto-populate happened when installing and choosing to enter a license key.
