Allow Advanced search within KB articles for enduser as well
Idea shared by EL-Support - 6/18/2018 at 7:17 AM
Declined

Employees can set more specific search parameters by using the advanced search function to search for an KB article. Advanced searches use the "and" modifier for combining phrases and fields to construct the search. Search results are displayed based on the overall weight of the results returned.

It would be great if a registered user (customer) could perform an advanced search within the FAQ portal (portal) as well. Example: He want to check into new created articles.

We have added this feature request to our internal discussion for a possible addition to a future version.

Is this on the roadmap for v15?

This feature is still queued for internal discussion. It is not currently scheduled for inclusion in any specific version.

After internal discussion, we have decided not to implement this feature. We wish to keep the search capabilities fairly simple on the portal pages. This is in part to keep things simple, and to mitigate potential security risks. However, we did review the current search behavior, and we are planning enhance the search by limiting the results to the current folder.

It's not a good decision. At the moment, a customer cannot even determine which KB articles have been newly created in the last four weeks.
