Captain Obvious... Autoresponder issues

Before I submit a SMTicket... I want to make sure that the following is a true statement (SM15,x) :
I should see auto-responder emails (out-bound), as in out-office, in the stmp logs correct?
For whatever reason, SM suddenly is no longer sending out emails when auto-responder should be invoked.
Also .. if I have the main email as   myemail@main.com,  and I have an alias email as alias@main.com, ... I should still be sending out emails correct??
