SM Communicator

Don't really want to start a large commentary .. just want to know if the SM Communicator is commonly used successfully??  If you are using it, what /whom is the VOIP provider with?
If you are not using it, did you once try and found it unsatisfactory???
 
We are just trying to get a feel on what direction we want to go.. not with SM Trak (as we are committed to porting to this software ) but the integration of SM Trak with our CRM.
 
Also, if there are changes from SMTools, for SM Trak, that roadmap would be most helpful to know.
