Migrate existing POP3 account to Imap
Question asked by Jon Eastwood - 2/2/2018 at 4:13 AM
Answered
I have several customers who have PCs running pop3 accounts with outlook
They now want set the account up as Imap so they can access the email in web,ail and on their phones and tablet

If I simply tell the customer to change the outlook settings from POP3 to IMAP will it simply start uploading All the local folders and contents that are stored in outlook locally under the inbox up to the server?

Or is it simply a line in the sand in that from that day new messages will but old wont

Or would it simply work in that if they creayed new folders under the inbox once the Imap was set up they could move local messages into those new folders?

Does all that make sense?

Thanks

Jon.
