When I create an imap account in Office2007 it creates a second set of folders to manage the mail rather than using the existing personal folders. I can send and receive mail but it is very difficult to delete messages. Get a strikeout through the message but it remains in the folder! Any thoughts most welcome.

Hi David. I'm not personally familiar with Outlook 2007, but I may be able to help. When you say they emails aren't being added to the existing personal folders... What folders are you referring to? Does Outlook 2007 have an "All Accounts" section, like newer versions do? As far as I understand, each account that's configured within Outlook will be separated by account. That said, some email clients will create duplicate folders to be used instead, but they sometimes allow you to map those to the folders coming from your mail account. For example, when you connect an account to Mac Mail, it will use its own Sent Messages folder for emails sent from Mac Mail, however, you can map that to use SmarterMail's Sent Items folder instead.

For deleting messages, are you deleting the message in Outlook and it just strikes out the message, rather than removing it?
