How to set AD authentication after Integration AD

Dear All,

I have 3000+ user and customer want AD integration.

If we will integrate with AD can user require separate password for accessing mail or AD password will work for mail.

If the customer want AD authentication for mail and AD both than how we can do.

Please suggest any one if know about this.
