Filter Authenticated Connections
Question asked by Erick Baum - 7/22/2015 at 12:01 PM

I'm running the latest 14.1 server.  I swore there was a setting for this, but maybe it's been removed.  When an inbound authenticated connection is made to deliver mail, I need the spam filter to still be applied.  Currently, any connections that successfully logs bypasses the spam filter.  Is there a way to stop that so everything passes through the spam filter?

Do you have "Enable domain's SMTP auth setting for local deliveries" checked in:

  • Settings
  • Protocol Settings
  • SMTP IN

Enable SMTP AUTH Settings
NOTE:  If you are not forcing TLS encryption on all connections, then DO NOT check Disable AUTH LOGIN method for SMTP authentication.

I do not have that checked. Most of the mail currently comes in from an unauthenticated (whitelisted) connection. So I didn't want to cause more problems for myself by turning that on. Would that have anything to do with the spam filtering on authenticated connections?
