Auto insert CC and BCC

Is there a way to have the mail server automatically put in an email for the CC and BCC field?  Rather than just manually typing the email addresses every time?

Hi Christina,

I don't believe there's a way to auto-populate the CC and BCC fields. However, if you have certain email addresses that should be receiving all of your messages out, you may be interested in our KB article, Copy Mail Sent To or From a Mailbox.

Let me know if that helps!

We are testing SM as a local only mail server (with POP message retrieval) and collaboration software, using a virtual domain name, which is a standard setup for other products. Not being able to modify the FROM field as possible in most eMail software, an alias allows nevertheless to send mails. However, the auto BCC procedure suggested above doesn't work because it uses the virtual domain name as SENDER, which is again rejected.

Correction: it does work when logged in as the system administrator as instructed in the above link. I was first logged in as domain administrator. However, there is a delay of 15 to 20 minutes before the blind copy is sent, which is disturbing the work flow in our case.

  • Do you have the virtual domain name properly configured in DNS?

  • Do you have a valid rDNS created for the virtual domain name?
