Newbie! So used to Exchange. Is there step-by-step instructions for EAS setups?

Using trail version of Enterprise. I can't quite get my head around the EAS setup.
- Does the server hosting SmarterMail Enterpirse have to be a DC? If so I should dcpromo before installing SM?
- The client side, Outlook, do we setup with Exchange and use Exchange Proxy settings?

What I have setup:
- SME is installed, no Active Directory
- 1 domain setup w/ 3 users (one is admin)
- And here is where Dave gets stuck! I'm missin' something!

Hi Dave.  Outlook 2013 requires the use of SSL to add an EAS account.  Mobile devices should connect without this requirement.

Hi Dave,

The Knowledge Base contains step-by-step instructions for setting up Exchange ActiveSync:

This should be all you need for the basic setup. Then, you'll just want to set up the connection per device. Use the link below to browse through KB articles pertaining to Exchange ActiveSync. You can look through this list to find the articles needed, based on the device you want to connect to.
