How do you define when and which notification profile to use?

I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to tell Smartermail which notification profile to use. I've got one set to send me a text via email, but it's not doing anything. I'm sure that it's because I haven't told it to actually USE the profile anywhere. Any suggestions?

Notification Profiles are used in conjunction with the Events system. Users will see a benefit from this, for example, if they set up events to be notified when an email comes in from a specific sender or maybe even an email from a specific domain. Domain administrators and system administrators will find this especially useful if they have policies regarding how specific types of issues triggered by the event system are fired. For example, throttling events may generate a SMS message to a domain administrators alias as that can indicate a spamming issue that requires investigation.

Therefore, you're probably right: You have a notification profile sent but you're unsure of how to use it. Take a look at our help documentation on Notification Profiles for Users and the Events System for Users. There are also sections for Domain Administrators and System Admins in the Help. These should provide some more insight.
