Calendar Widget for Webpages

I thought it would be great to have a Calendar Widget that would create code that could be placed on a webpage to give access a person/office shared calendar for a website visitor, so that visitor could requested an appointment while visiting the calendar owners website.

Have you attempted to create one, or is this a suggestion to SmarterMail?

Hi Bruce Thanks for the read. It is a suggestion for Smartermail. Create an office or conference room calendar then ask Smartermail to generate code that would display the calendar on a webpage, so visitors to the site could requested appointments with the website owner.

I'm guessing you have a model similar to the ability to embed a Google calendar into a website, but also allowing visitors to the site to either, directly, or via a request link, add an event, or respond to an event, to the calendar or calendar items.

I definitely support this concept and think it would be an incredible idea.

Hi Bruce

Yes, request an appointment, see all available opening and be able to place an appointment/event on to the calendar.  The owner is notified by email and sees the appointment in his calendar and can change day or time if needed.

More and more client are requesting this feature, and it appears that Smartermail has done most of the work already, formatting the display frame, test security, might not be that complicated to add this feature and it would be a great selling point.

Hi Bruce did you get any traction with this idea? Do you know if any of the programmers are working on this?

J Lee, we have made note of your request for a calendaring widget. It has been discussed briefly by the development team.  In the near future most of SmarterMail will be exposed via API calls, including all calendaring functions.  At that time you would be able to implement a calendaring widget to satisfy your needs.

Thank you again, J Lee, for your excellent idea.  At this time, however, we do not have any plans to make a separate widget.  If this decision changes, I will notify you on this thread.

It looks like it has been a couple years since this idea was considered. Is this an option now in the current version of SmarterMail?
