We understand that many SmarterTrack agents don't work in the management interface 100% of their day. To accommodate this, SmarterTrack utilizes browser notifications to alert agents of standard activity within the site.
For example, when browser notifications are enabled and you are logged into the SmarterTrack management or portal interface, you'll receive a pop-up browser notification for many scenarios, including when:
- A ticket is automatically assigned to you via round robin.
- A ticket is transferred to you by another agent.
- A live chat is in the Queue.
- A live chat is assigned to you.
If you're using a new browser or haven't previously set the notification permissions, you will be prompted to allow this functionality when a browser notification is triggered for your account. If browser notifications were blocked when SmarterTrack initially requested permission, or to manually enable notifications, you can adjust your browser settings in order to allow these alerts. Please review your browser documentation for more information on enabling browser notifications per site or review the steps for some common browsers below:
Google Chrome (version 58+)
Follow these steps to allow SmarterTrack notifications in Chrome:
- Open Chrome and navigate to your SmarterTrack site.
- To the left of the web address, click on the Lock icon.
- Next to Notifications, change the dropdown arrow from Block to Always allow on this site.
- Click Reload to refresh the site and render your changes.
Mozilla Firefox (version 53+)
Follow these steps to allow SmarterTrack notifications in Firefox:
- Open Firefox and navigate to your SmarterTrack site.
- To the left of the web address, click on the Lock icon.
- Under the Permissions section, click on the X to the right Receive Notifications - Blocked.
- The next time a notification is triggered, SmarterTrack will request permission to send notifications again. Checkmark Remember this decision, then click Allow Notifications.
Microsoft Edge (Chromium)
Follow these steps to allow SmarterTrack notifications in Edge:
- Open Edge and click on the More (...) button in the upper right corner.
- Click on Settings.
- Scroll down and click on Site Permissions.
- Then, click on Notifications.
- Here, you have some standard settings for asking about notifications and/or quieting them. Under that, you have Block and Allow.
- Under Allow, click the Add button and add in the full URL.
