Unblock / Allow Browser Notifications in SmarterTrack

This article applies to recent versions of SmarterTrack. View articles for SmarterTrack 12.x and earlier.
We understand that many SmarterTrack agents don't work in the management interface 100% of their day. To accommodate this, SmarterTrack utilizes browser notifications to alert agents of standard activity within the site.

SmarterTrack Ticket Notifications

For example, when browser notifications are enabled and you are logged into the SmarterTrack management or portal interface, you'll receive a pop-up browser notification for many scenarios, including when:

  • A ticket is automatically assigned to you via round robin.
  • A ticket is transferred to you by another agent.
  • A live chat is in the Queue.
  • A live chat is assigned to you.
  • An agent sends you an instant message. Notifications will appear if the browser focus is not on the chat window/tab.
  • An agent writes in a chat room you a part of. Notifications will appear if the browser focus is not on the chat window/tab.
If you're using a new browser or haven't previously set the notification permissions, you will be prompted to allow this functionality when a browser notification is triggered for your account. If browser notifications were blocked when SmarterTrack initially requested permission, or to manually enable notifications, you can adjust your browser settings in order to allow these alerts. Please review your browser documentation for more information on enabling browser notifications per site or review the steps for some common browsers below:
