Enable a Server for Automatic Failover

SmarterTrack Enterprise with Failover Functionality allows the software to be activated on a second server that is always connected to the database in standby mode to ensure the help desk remains on line if there is a failure on the primary server.

Applies to SmarterTrack Enterprise with Failover Functionality 11.x-12.x

Follow these steps to enable a server for automatic failover:

  1. Log in to the SmarterTrack management interface as a system administrator.
  2. Click the settings icon.
  3. Expand the Configuration folder and click Failover in the navigation pane. A list of servers on which failover licensing is activated will load in the content pane.
  4. To specify which server will act as the passive server in the failover cluster, select the desired server and click Enable. If the server is already enabled, no action is necessary.

 

Applies to SmarterTrack Enterprise with Failover Functionality 6.x - 10.x

  4. Click Clustering in the navigation pane. A list of servers on which failover licensing is activated will load in the content pane.
  5. To specify which server will act as the passive server in the failover cluster, select the desired server and click Enable. If the server is already enabled, no action is necessary.
