Companies can add links to the customer portal that redirect to other websites and resources using the custom links feature of SmarterTrack. For example, a company may add a custom link to help guide customers to their webmail or to the company blog. Custom links can show up as icons on the portal or as tabs along the top of the portal.

Applies to SmarterTrack 11.x-12.x

Follow these steps to add a custom link to the portal:

  1. Log in to the SmarterTrack management interface as a system administrator.
  2. Click on the Settings icon.
  3. Expand the Manage folder in the navigation pane.
  4. Click Brands. A list of brands will load in the content pane.
  5. Select the desired brand and click Edit.
  6. Click the Custom Links tab and click Add.
  7. In the Title field, type the name of the custom link.
  8. In the Link URL field, type the website URL.
  9. To specify how the linked site will open, select the appropriate link target.
  10. To specify which users have access to the link, select the appropriate role from the Role Required list.
  11. Click Save.

Applies to SmarterTrack 7.x - 10.x

Follow these steps to add a custom link to the portal:

  1. Log in to SmarterTrack as a system administrator.
  2. Click Management Interface in the portal.
  3. Click on the settings icon.
  4. Expand the System Settings and Portal folders in the navigation pane.
  5. Click Custom Links. A list of custom links will load in the content pane.
  6. Click New in the content pane toolbar.
  7. Click the Options tab.
  8. In the Title field, type the name of the custom link.
  9. If you have multiple custom links, you may want to change the display order. Entering 1 in this column will display the link first, 2 will display the link second, and so on.
  10. In the Link URL field, type the website URL.
  11. To specify how the linked site will open, select the appropriate link target.
  12. To specify which users have access to the link, select the appropriate role from the Role Required list.
  13. Select the Enable in portal checkbox to display the link on the main portal page or select the Display as a tab checkbox to display the link as a portal tab.
  14. Click Save.

NOTE: If you are using SmarterTrack's branding feature, you will also need to click the Brands tab and select the brands for which the custom link will display.
