Create Default Messages to Customers at the Beginning and End of Live Chats

System administrators can configure SmarterTrack to automatically show a custom message to customers at the beginning and end of live chats. These optional messages can be used to provide additional instructions and information to the customer.

Applies to SmarterTrack 12.x

Follow these steps to create a custom live chat message to customers:

  1. Log in to the SmarterTrack management interface as a system administrator.
  2. Click the Settings icon.
  3. Expand the Configuration folder in the navigation pane and click on Live Chat.
  4. Click the Departments tab. A list of departments will load in the content pane.
  5. Select the department that you want to add the chat message to and click Edit.
  6. Click the Custom Messages tab.
  7. In the Before Live Chat field, type the message you want customers to see before chats.
  8. In the After Live Chat field, type the message you want customers to see after chats.
  9. Click Save.
  10. Click Save again to preserve the live chat settings changes.

 

Applies to SmarterTrack 11.x

Follow these steps to create a custom live chat message to customers:

  1. Log in to the SmarterTrack management interface as a system administrator.
  2. Click the Settings icon.
  3. Expand the Manage folder in the navigation pane.
  4. Click Departments. A list of available departments will load in the content pane.
  5. Select the department that you want to add the chat message to and click Edit.
  6. Click the Custom Messages tab.
  7. In the Custom Message Before Live Chat field, type the message you want customers to see before chats.
  8. In the Custom Message After Live Chat field, type the message you want customers to see after chats.
  9. Click Save.

 

Applies to SmarterTrack 6.x - 10.x

Follow these steps to create a custom live chat message to customers:

  1. Log in to SmarterTrack as a system administrator.
  2. Click the Settings icon.
  3. Expand the System Settings and Organization folders in the navigation pane.
  4. Click Departments. A list of available departments will load in the content pane.
  5. Select the department that you want to add the chat message to and click Edit.
  6. Click the Live Chat tab.
  7. In the Custom Message Before Live Chat field, type the message you want customers to see before chats.
  8. In the Custom Message After Live Chat field, type the message you want customers to see after chats.
  9. Click Save.
