Build 9693 (Jul 16, 2026)

Answered
Any issues with this new build with 3 fixes?
  • Fixed: A spam bypass issue related to certain email headers.
  • Fixed: Rspamd doesn't have a "Score Only" option similar to other antispam settings.
  • Fixed: Wildcard flag isn't always triggered in Content Filters or Routing Rules.
Here's something else that can be fixed.  I'm posting this message as a Question, but after posted, it displays as a Problem. So I need to manually edit the thread and switch back to Question.

Installed 9693 on test server with just a few mailboxes. Everything looks good so far.

Something weird seems to be going on with network settings on build 9693.   After installing SmarterMail tonight, I no longer had a gateway address in my network interface configuration.   After some angst, I found the problem, fixed it, and everything is working for the moment.    Since it is working, I did not open an emergency ticket, but I have opened regular ticket for tomorrow.

Hello Douglas, when you say: I no longer had a gateway address in my network interface configuration.

You're talking about the windows network interface configuration itself or something in SmarterMail GUI ?

Yes  it makes no sense.  I want to blame it on Sentinel One or something else, but my boss assures me that Sentinel One would not do that, just as it is impossible to believe that a software install could do that.  What is certain is thatit happened in conjunction with the software instal.  I did the install from the console, so after it finished, the localhost web page showed a healthy system, but the remote web page had no response and emails were not flowing.   It was an easy fix once I figured out where to look.   The system is my MX inbound gateway.  I left the new version in production and it has run normally all night

I checked out a few of our in house test and production servers and didn't see any signs of this here. I figured I'd mention it because we are also a Sentinel One house. Perhaps something was logged in the event viewer? I know we read in bound IP addresses from the registry (last I read into that area) but we don't modify those areas.

After chasing my problem in some detail with SmarterTools support, we are inclined to conclude that my problems are a glitch caused by VMWware snapshotting or Sentinel One security software.   System continues to run normally today.

Interesting! I'll keep an eye out on our end, we upgrade often enough I may run into it!

Installed this build on several production servers this week and it's been working well -- stable and no issues.

So, what are the list of "gotchas" going from 9623 to 9693?  I've seen posts about content filters breaking--which would be a HUGE deal for our own domains AND our customers, who we know use them a lot.  Will the filter syntax have to be updated wherever there are wildcards or whatever caused breakage?  Are there other things we should be on the lookout for?

Normally we take new builds as they come out, unless there are big changes.  We've held at 9623 since May, but don't want to get too far behind in the release cadence.

I upgraded four servers (1 test, 2 inbound gateways, 1 main server)from a January build.   All have been very stable.   Content filter issue is fixed in this release.

I upgraded a Windows server to build Build 9693 (Jul 16, 2026) this past Friday. No issues at all :)
