Maximum attachment size can't be set to 0 for unlimited size

Not A Problem
Hi all,

I've running SmarterMail, build 9652, as free edition.

I can't set the maximum attachment size to 0 to have an unlimited attachment size for incoming messages. When setting 0 the server writes that the value has to be set to 50 as minimum.

Kind Regards

That's not a bug, but a feature. The max attachment size needs a value, it can't be set to unlimited. I believe, by default, it's set to 10000 KB.

Email is and never was designed to be a transport method for large files.

@John Quest : I know. But I do backups of messages from my smartphone an these are growing. I have no other way to get the backup outside my smartphone as of using mail.
@Derek Curtis : So why do you write this in the admin UI when it's not possible?
Same for this:
So If I send you a 100GB attachment via email, then I would fuck your mailbox completely?

And I could do that to all domains hosted on your server and it would render it useless.

@Brian Bjerring-Jensen - VonBjerring GmbH : I know the konsequences of this setting. In my case this isn't really a problem because my mail server isn't reachable from outside of my network. I'm relaying via my mail provider and pick up incoming mails from this mail provider. So I can't get any mails with large attachments ;-).

And because of using SmarterMail for private purposes, I only have one internal mail domain.

It's OK if it isn't possible to increase the sizes. But then it shouldn't been written in the UI that an unlimited size can be set by 0!
