Retrival task and content filtering

Under “Connectivity” I have set up an email retrieval task so I can receive emails from another account I have. I’m using POP.
 
It works, but I’m experiencing a problem – those emails when they arrive are not subject to content filtering. Or so it seems. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong with content filtering?

Email Retrieval, by default, adds retrieved messages directly to your mailbox without any additional processing. There is a setting at the bottom of the Email Retrieval modal to enable content filtering for that account. When this setting is enabled, retrieved messages are added to the spool with your account as the sole BCC recipient so that content filtering can be applied.
