Potential bug: Duplicate attachment downloads in SM 9652 webmail
Problem reported by Robert Mathias - 6/11/2026 at 11:42 AM
Being Fixed
We have received reports from at least four separate users who access their mailboxes via webmail. Each user has reported that downloading a single email attachment results in duplicate copies being downloaded.

We have been able to reproduce the issue on two separate SM 9652 instances using the latest versions of Opera, Chrome and Firefox browsers.

In Opera and Chrome, when attempting to download a single attachment from an email, the browser displays a pop-up message asking for permission to allow multiple downloads. A screenshot is included below.

After clicking Allow, each subsequent attempt to download a single attachment, such as a PDF file, results in at least two duplicate copies being downloaded.

For example, if a user clicks once on an individual attachment named:
tickets.pdf
SM downloads it like so:
tickets.pdf
tickets (1).pdf
If i ignore the pop-up message and download an attachment anyway, it seems to download it once which is the expected behaviour.

Firefox does not display the multiple-downloads pop-up message, but the same duplicate download behaviour is observed.
Allready reported and a fix is coming.

Brian is correct - we were able to reproduce this and have escalated a task to development to have this resolved. We'll follow up with updates here in the community when we get the fix verified in QC.

@Sagar
Just implement the fix in the other thread.
Took me less than 2 minutes and it works.
