9518 and what version of Windows Server ???

I've seen at least one report of someone running 9518 on Windows Server 2016.  However, in my own experience, 9518 (actually one of the prior versions too... don't remember which) installs .Net 10 (I have it installed on my home servers for testing with the freebie edition of SM).

.Net 10 is NOT fully supported under Windows 2016.  So the question is,  is it advised to upgrade the OS prior to installing 9518?  I can goto Windows 2022, but don't have licenses for 2025 inhouse.

Or, when an earlier OS is detected, does it downgrade the version of .Net in use and install 8 or 9 instead (as appropriate) on its own ?

The installation instructions say that it must be installed BEFORE the installation of SM, which I don't think is true, but may as well get this all out  there for others as well and get a definitive answer from SM Personnel.

It won't downgrade .NET -- because it's compiled with .NET 10 that is the runtime environment it will demand.  It will attempt to download and install the required version if it can't find it already present on the system (our experience during all testing over the last month) --

We run 9518 on Server 2022 and have no issues -

@Rod I did send two emails back but the SSL cert on your server is being rejected because it doesn't match the hostname being presented --

I will resend from an outside account.
