Schedule<randomid> folder
Problem reported by Sébastien Riccio - 11/15/2025 at 11:46 AM
Resolved
Hi,

Since last update, some customers reported they have a "Schedule<randomid>" folder popping in their mail client (imap connected).

They don't know what this is about and tried to delete it from their mail client but it returns an error.

My clue is that it is maybe related to webmail "send later" function but why is this appearing in their maiil client ?

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Second this. Just started getting reports. Can this be hidden by default in other clients besides webmail?

Currently, my solution has been to disable the feature entirely from "User Defaults" and then propagate it to ALL users of ALL domains (see images below...)

They didn't have this feature before, and they don't have it now either... Then in the future I'll enable it for anyone who requests it...

Recent releases include two new but related features - delayed send and scheduled send. When enabled, delayed send holds all outbound messages for up to a minute (depending on the user's settings) before adding them to the spool, giving the sender a window to recall the message. Messages sent using delay send will appear in the sender's Sent Items folder and will have an indicator on them until they reach the send time.

Scheduled send is an option that can be selected when composing a message, allowing the sender to select a specific date and time that the message should be sent. Because this will generally result in the message being held for a longer period of time before the message is added to the spool, they are placed in a new default folder labelled Scheduled. This folder should not be syncing to clients over any protocol. Can you tell me which protocols are being used when it shows up in email clients?

We'll get the random ID issue resolved. It has to do with the different ways protocols sync folders. For example, EWS uses the display name, but IMAP uses a structured path.

The users reporting customers are using IMAP to connect their mailboxes

You're saying the folder should not be syncing to clients, but on another hand Derek says the random ID issue will be fixed.
I am a bit lost, will finally this folder keep being sync with e-mail clients or not ?

Re-Reading the latest build changelog I see this:

  • Changed: Scheduled Folder is no longer hidden even if it's empty.
But it's not clear if it should only appear in webmail or also in clients.

Thanks :)

I checked my test account with eMClient/EWS and the folder also appears (translated).

As Andrew said: This folder should not be syncing to clients over any protocol.

I wanted to let you know that it also seems to sync with EWS.

Sorry, Sebastien. I kind of muddied the waters with my reply. The Scheduled folder will only show for webmail users. It will not (and should not) sync to any clients over any protocols.

It also appears in Outlook with MAPI.
